LOS ÁNGELES AZULES AND BELINDA SHINE DURING THE FIFA WORLD CUP 2026™ OPENING CEREMONY IN MEXICO
Miami, FL (June 11, 2026) – Today marks a historic moment. The FIFA World Cup 2026™ officially kicked off with a celebration filled with music, color, and profound meaning. Mexico City Stadium served as the stage where the first note of this tournament was played, launching a competition that will be shared by Canada, Mexico and the United States and united by a passion for soccer that connects millions of people around the world.
The opening ceremony at Mexico City Stadium brought together some of the most recognized Latin voices in the global music industry, and Los Ángeles Azules and Belinda delivered one of the event’s standout performances.
Los Ángeles Azules, who have been featured in the FIFA World Cup 2026™’s most significant events this week, including México Vibra and the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Countdown Concert, once again demonstrated why they are the most renowned cumbia group in the world. Joined by international pop star Belinda, they performed “Por Ella”, the No. 1 song on Mexican radio and one of the tracks featured on the Official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Album. Their performance had not only the thousands of fans in attendance dancing throughout the stadium, but also the millions of viewers around the world who followed the event through television broadcasts and streaming platforms.
Written by Horacio Palencia, Diego Bollella, Elías Mejía, and Belinda Peregrín, “Por Ella” has emerged as one of the songs most deeply rooted in Mexican identity within this edition of the tournament. With its powerful lyrics, the track spreads joy, excitement, and celebration for the World Cup.
Los Ángeles Azules and Belinda left the crowd energized with their infectious chemistry and unmistakable cumbia rhythm. The performance became a true explosion of music and dance that resonated around the globe.
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will feature 104 matches across 16 host cities, beginning today, June 11, in Mexico City and concluding on Sunday, July 19, at New York New Jersey Stadium.
