MARÍA JOSÉ EMBRACES HER ROLE AS “LA MALA DEL CUENTO” WITH HER NEW SINGLE
Miami, FL (September 25, 2026) – Throughout her career, María José’s music has been defined by powerful, deeply emotional stories that resonate with her fans. “La Mala del Cuento” is the latest example, a new single in which La Josa gives a voice to those who acknowledge their mistakes and accept the consequences of their actions.
“Heartbreak isn’t always directed at someone else. Sometimes, it’s directed at ourselves for having made a mistake. With ‘La Mala del Cuento,’ we wanted to capture that difficult moment when, with complete honesty, you accept that you were the one who made a mistake and ruined a relationship,” La Josa shared.
Written by Paty Cantú, Stefano Vieni, and Safree, “La Mala del Cuento” highlights a new side of María José. Through an emotionally charged performance, the artist speaks to those who recognize themselves as the antagonist in a love story. The song is accompanied by a music video that brings its story to life through a melancholic, countryside setting.
“La Mala del Cuento” follows “Respirar,” with both singles set to appear on ‘Alma De Mujer,’ an upcoming album through which María José celebrates her identity as a woman, embracing every facet of womanhood, from freedom and passion to vulnerability.
Following the release of “La Mala del Cuento,” now available on all digital platforms, María José continues her Ahora o Nunca Tour across Mexico, with upcoming shows at the Auditorio Nacional on December 10 and 11. At the same time, La Josa is preparing to bring her music to the United States for a series of concerts alongside Moenia throughout October and November.

Accompanied by her musicians and a fully captivated audience, María José continued with “Me equivoqué” and “Ya no me acuerdo más de ti,” followed by “Como tu mujer” and “Evidencias,” two of the night’s most eagerly anticipated performances.
As the concert neared its finale, María José performed “Él era perfecto” and “No soy una señora.” But the audience wasn’t ready for the night to end. Following an enthusiastic demand for more, she returned to close the show on a high note with “Adelante corazón” and “Prefiero ser su amante,” bringing the crowd to its feet. María José will return to the stage tomorrow for another highly anticipated performance, this time featuring Kaia Lana as a special guest.
