Miami, FL (May 28, 2026) — Mau y Ricky have officially unveiled ‘Ricky y Mau,’ their new studio album and the most intimate, spontaneous, and emotionally honest project of their career to date. More than just an album, the release represents a transformative moment for the brothers, a body of work born from creative freedom, genuine human connection, and a desire to make music from a place that feels deeply personal and authentic.
Across 12 tracks, the duo explores themes of love, nostalgia, emotional tension, the chaos of modern relationships, and vulnerability, all through an optimistic lens. Following the introspective chapter of ‘Hotel Caracas,’ this album signals a new era for Mau y Ricky. That evolution begins with its title, inspired by a campaign led by Ricky to officially rename the duo “Ricky y Mau.” What started as a joke ultimately revealed the depth of their bond as brothers. While the group’s name remained unchanged, the album adopted the title as a symbol of this new chapter.
Notably, ‘Ricky y Mau’ was not created solely in the studio. The brothers brought the album to stages across Spain and Latin America through a series of intimate experiences where they performed the songs live before their official release. Audience reactions helped shape part of the project’s creative and emotional journey.
The album officially debuted last night in front of Mexico City’s Teatro Metropólitan, where a fully engaged crowd celebrated the release in a special event that served as the perfect culmination of the listening experiences that accompanied the birth of the project.
Produced by JonTheProducer, the album also features production contributions from Daramola, Robbie Meza, and Stromae. It includes collaborations with Kapo, Lia Kali, Matisse, and Marc Anthony, further expanding the album’s emotional and sonic universe. Leading the release is “Amapola,” a pop anthem built around an irresistible melody and an unforgettable chorus.
