ALEJANDRO SANZ RELEASES “YO ERA POESÍA,” HIS NEW SINGLE FEATURING MEXICAN SINGER-SONGWRITER EDEN MUÑOZ
Miami FL, (June 21, 2026) – Alejandro Sanz unveiled his new single, “Yo era poesía,” a powerful collaboration with acclaimed Mexican singer-songwriter and producer Eden Muñoz.
“Yo Era Poesía” came to life during a spontaneous encounter in Miami. While Muñoz was visiting the city, a makeshift studio was set up inside Sanz’s home. Surrounded by an effortless sense of creative chemistry, with producer Richi López on keyboards, Sanz on guitar, and both artists lending their voices, the two wrote and composed the song together in Miami Beach.
From the very beginning, Sanz and Muñoz knew they had created something special: a deeply emotional song they chose to hold onto until the right moment came to share it with the world.
At its core, “Yo Era Poesía” is a striking lyrical work that pays tribute to Romantic poet Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. The song offers a bold, contemporary interpretation of Bécquer’s Rimas, cleverly reimagining one of his most iconic verses: “What is poetry?… Poetry… is you.” Sanz’s unmistakable poetic sensibility is woven together with distinctly Mexican influences, including the accordion, incorporated as a heartfelt tribute to Mexico and its rich musical heritage.

The official music video, filmed in Madrid this past June and directed by Gus Carballo, beautifully reflects the song’s poetic essence. With an understated, almost minimalist aesthetic, the visual places the chemistry and personalities of both artists at its center while incorporating an imaginative use of digital technology.
